With that said, this book didn't bring anything new to the table, well, except for another triad mating. Nothing new happening on the farm. No exciting cases handled by the sheriff. Just a few incidents with squirrels. Actually this could be read as a stand alone -- There is enough background summarizing the series.In this story Max (Fox shifter), Garth (Alpha wolf and town sheriff), and Roan (Gargoyle) are mates. Yet they haven't mated because of Garth. His wolf won't accept another alpha in their mating and is rebelling against Roan. This theme - One mate in a triad not getting with the program - Is common in this series . Yes the situation was rough yet I knew eventually they'd get it right -- Because that also happens in the other books.The focus is on the three men and working out their mating. It was interesting seeing how far Garth would go to make this work. Max was cute and if he had PTSD and nightmares those weren't brought up. In fact there wasn't any background on any of these guys and what they brought to the mating. Nothing on Max's imprisonment, Roan's curse, or Garth's history. Everything told was in the here and now. As a result, I wasn't as invested in these characters, Their situations didn't bring me to tears or leave me hanging on the edge of my seat. Instead I was left with an ok feeling and that this story is too much like the others. - Dan's WifeEdit: May I add the cover doesn't do anything to promote the story. Cute red head fox shifter = Bruce Jenner look alike? ?? Well, it's what I thought when I saw that guy on the cover. Just saying.

To watch a character through other characters and then get to see the events through that characters eye is so fun.This is why I bought this book without reading any reviews or a summary its the fifth book in this series and I have read all of them. I like the way this little commune the is developing. The way the community interact is interesting and each book is a different family's story.I have to say I have been looking forward to foxes story. I was really surprised by the way this story play out usually when there are two alpha males in a ménage romance they usually get along or they’re related so to see the characters have to force the relationship was an interesting plot twist and very creative use of Bdsm elements. I would recommend this book, but for the most enjoyment start at the the beginning.

I felt absolutely nothing for Ronan or Max I actually didn't like them... I didn't like how Garth was the bad one because his wolf wouldn't submit but yet Ronan wouldn't submit to him either at first but Garth was the difficult one... I skimmed thru the rest of the book when Garth had to be chained down for Ronan to claim him that was ridiculous to me... And to me Max just automatically sided with Ronan from the beginning... I will continue to read the series when the next book comes out I just hope that it was it's way better than this one...
