It was tasteful and in the spirit, exactly what I was looking for! It feels good to have the promise of something good come into your life, by God's grace. Looking forward to more from this author.
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Felt Incomplete By Voracious Reader Melissa has a great job in England, but she’s been lonely. When she learns her dad has cancer, she goes back home to find him dying. Another shock comes in the form of Jordan James. She remembered him as a lanky youth, her brother’s best friend, and the guy who’d help her out whenever she got in a bind. Now he’s turned into a handsome man, and she’s still more comfortable with him than anyone.This story felt incomplete, even for a short story. The introduction is a summary of the whole book and reveals too much. 90% of the book is just telling, and it opens with Melissa thinking how good she looks. The “prologue” comes at the end of the book; I think the author meant “epilogue.” This was a waste of my time and not worth the effort.

I liked how the story showed Christian views and the peace shown in the father about his death was inspiring. I also like how clean the story is because lots of romance books ( even Christian romance) bombard readers with a lot of inappropiate content. (A shout out to the author: Thank you for not bombarding me with inappropiate scenes! Please keep it up!) The story idea was definitely intriguing, but the way it was written was kind of rough. The story didn't flow very well for me. The writing was hard to follow. The transitioning from scene to scene was unpolished. It just felt awkward in a way and editing is needed. I really like the characters but they weren't rounded out well. I would like the story to show rather than just tell. I really like the author's plot idea and I think with more editing, smoother transitions, and more character development; the book would be better. I also would like this book a little bit longer because I like the characters and I wish I could read more about them. The story ended rather abruptly and I was surprised since I didn't realise this was a short story. The ending was very sweet.
