About the Author John Fielder is Colorado's best-known nature photographer, publisher, teacher and preservationist with 39 exhibit-format books and guidebooks to his credit, including John Fielder's Best of Colorado and Colorado 1870-2000. He is also the recipient of numerous awards, including the Sierra Club's Ansel Adams Award for Conservation Photography (1993) and the Aldo Leopold Foundation's first ever Achievement Award (2011). John Fielder's photography has influenced people and legislation, and he has worked tirelessly to promote the protection of Colorado's open space and wildlands.

It is amazing the see the changes that occur in 100 years, but overall the book was a huge disappointment for me. I grew up in Colorado, near Durango. I guess I was looking for the Colorado I know, but its not in this book. Get a used copy. Cheaper.

The first one was shipped with another purchase, and it got beat up in shipping. I called Amazon and told them about it and the shipped me out another one and paid the shipping to send the battered one back. I love it and the book looks great on my coffee table. I love going through it and it will take me forever to read it!

Furthermore, took me an hour to cut through the tape the book arrived in. I doubt this review will reach the review page, makes me feel good just to type it out.
