I was particularly excited to stumble along this book... for 99 cents, it really can't be beat. The Moses aspect is interesting, too.Though I would recommend this book to others, I'd caution that the book sometimes skips forward or drags forward to suit the author but seemingly without reason. I also can't help but be frustrated by the lack of rich vocabulary, very simple sentences, and scattered typographical errors. Sometimes, it feels as if the book was written for children or English language learners.

Smith Tying together Bibical narratives with a known historical Hatshepsut, Howe delivers a story that puts Moses in the hands of this woman. As his surrogate mother, she raises Moses as a prince, educating him in Egyptian writing and warcraft. All the while, Jocobed is teaching him the ways and stories of Yahweh. Even Hatshepsut buys into this spirituality of God even as she takes the reins of power.Could she really have been the woman who pulled Moses from the Nile? The author definitely thinks so as she tells Hatshepsut's story

This book seemed to spend a lot of time explaining that but once it got to actually talking about Hatshepsut it was quite good. I can't say there was a lot I didn't already know and it is an older book so not completely up to date.
