Super Well-written escapist fiction - I write crappy headlines :( By Jennifer Joan German Jay William writes characters you can feel through the page and places them in situations that you can smell. And that's a good thing, when the "smellin'" is of the Georgia tidewater and the characters are as interesting as the denizens of his work tend to be."Bad Hand" is action, mystery, dry humor and a fast-paced tale worth reading slowly. I like to unwrap my reads a page at a time when I get something really good and this was one of my slow reads. Jay William is an artist with words and a solid craftsman with story-telling. I don't want to read the Great American Novel, I want to be entertained by someone who COULD write the GAN if he wanted.
