It touched on a lot of subjects facing people (of all ages) today. It brings out your emotions and fills in a piece of you that was missing. I can't wait for the books to follow it! In Janette's books, you realilze a lot about yourself. Me being a teenager, I need to know all about me that I can. It helps you discover yourself and your fellings. I love discussing her books with my sister who is 20 and who originally got me started on Janette's books. Thanks soooo much for the books, Janette! :)

Virginia Simpson, granddaughter of Love Comes Softly's Marty and Clark Davis, finds this out first hand. At the tender age of thirteen, Virginia makes friends with daring and popular Jenny, a girl at her school. Feeling proud to be in the "in" group, Virginia begins to go on some of the group's fun after-school outings. But things start to lose their fun once she gets in trouble with her family. She knows she is disobeying her parents by going out with Jenny and skipping her chores, but she doesn't want to lose her friendship with Jenny. Virginia thinks her family is unfair and strict . . . why shouldn't she be allowed to have fun and grow up without so much supervision?One day Jenny and her friends go too far. They "borrow" a raft from a neighbor and steal candy from the store, then plan to go rafting on the flooded creek. Virginia realizes that she does not really belong with her group of friends. How could they stoop to stealing?She leaves the group angrily, knowing it would likely be the end of her friendship, but too angry to care at the moment.Then, Virginia hears some dreadful news that puts her in turmoil. . . .As time goes on, Jenny and Virginia become friends again, of sorts. In the Love Comes Softly series By Daniel (This is Sarah, using my husband's account.)This might not be quite fair since I have only read the Prologue and the first chapter of The Tender Years, but...What is with the glaring discrepancies in the family updates??!! The Prologue states that Nandry had only 2 daughters and neither of them married. What? In the Love Comes Softly series, Nandry has 4 children, and Mary and Jane (the two mentioned in The Tender Years' prologue) were married with 7 children between them when the last update was given. That is a ridiculous error. The Prologue says Clae lost a child to whooping cough, but in the Love Comes Softly series, she has 3 children who are well out of the whooping cough danger years, and nothing is mentioned about her losing any children. In the Prologue it says that Amy Jo was married, but didn't have a family which was a relief to Marty (with all Amy Jo's passion for travel and art or something). In the Love Comes Softly series, Amy Jo has her first baby shortly after Melissa has hers. The Prologue says that Dr. Luke and Abbie had just built a new house after 25 years in medical practice, so they finally had a home separate from his office. In the Love Comes Softly series, Belinda's friend Rand built an office building for Dr. Luke and Jackson to have their offices separate from Luke's home. This was about 8 or 9 years into Luke's practice. Belinda looked forward to seeing it when she went home to visit from Boston. I don't even think I'll keep reading. I just finished the Love Comes Softly books - the first books of hers I have read and had been looking forward to reading more of her books. Now I am so annoyed with her carelessness that I don't feel like reading more of Oke's books. There is no excuse for these obvious errors - Oke must have a team of editors. I know she has many faithful fans, some of whom must have caught these things too. Was this written by a ghost writer and not even read through by her? How can Oke forget the characters she created and developed in 8 books!?
