I loved the pictures showing the restoration of the mansion By Amazon Customer "Most comprehensive book on the Lemp family" I was surprised to see how big this book is. It's filled with rare photos, police reports and tons of info on each member of the family. It really brought the Lemp family to life. There are a lot of people who don't believe that Elsa Lemp committed sucide. And here for the first time is the complete coroner's inquest, police investigation and photos of inside her manison where it occured. All these secrets of what really happened on the morning she was shot are presented. All the reports on the other 3 family deaths by gunshot are here too, as well as new information on the mysterious circumstances around their deaths. If you think you know what happened, think again! I loved the pictures showing the restoration of the mansion, details about each room and the floor plans of the house. There's a section on the brewery and lots of stories about the hauntings reported at the mansion and caves. I've been a fan of Rebecca Pittman's books on the Stanley Hotel, and the Myrtles Plantation. Her research on these places is exhaustive. This book is highly recommended!!!

Ms. Pittman actually sends you back in time to the Gilded Age in St. Louis and takes you on a roller coaster ride that is the Lemp Family. Being from St. Louis with a healthy interest in ghosts, I have read everything about the Lemp Mansion and family that I could get my hands on. This book is the most comprehensive by far.

Really made you feel like you knew each of the Lemp's personally. I just wish there was more on the stories of the hauntings. The pictures are great..especially if you have ever been to the Lemp Mansion. You know exactly where things are.
