Revolutionary terrorists, a dead British agent, a man-eating tiger, & the Commander of the British Army cavorting with a Russian spySince the assassination of Czar Alexander II in 1881, the oppression of the Russian people has increased dramatically under the rule of the new Czar, Alexander III, fueling the flames of revolution. Cirque d'Hiver, the Parisian Circus, becomes a hotbed of anti-czarist activity in France. An undercover British agent is the target of a gruesome tiger attack. If that isn't enough, the Commander-in-Chief of the British army (and the Queen's cousin) cannot be dissuaded from romancing a circus barebacked rider and wanders into the middle of a known spy ring. Now we have a national emergency.Despite being a master of disguise, Sherlock Holmes is unable to infiltrate the circus as the tiger trainer's female assistant, finding that he is neither attractive nor convincing in tights. Enter Sherlock's laboratory assistant and chief bottle washer, Mirabella Hudson, whose youth and gender are her protection against suspicion. While Sherlock enjoys a lavish Parisian hotel, solving the case in comparative luxury, and Dr. John Watson romances a circus beauty and supposed Russian spy, Sherlock orders Mirabella to face man-eating tigers. She becomes a circus performer overnight in the Cirque d'Hiver in Paris investigating anti-czarist espionage activity, searching for a lost Zulu princess, solving the murder of a British agent, and protecting the world from the leakage of British military secrets to Russia.Monarchies are collapsing daily and the world is on the brink of revolution. But most importantly, the game is afoot!Stand-alone sequel to "Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Sword Princess" which is a finalist in the 2015 Chanticleer Murder and Mayhem Awards.

The innocence of youth at the beginning of adult life whose fortune is to meet two older mentors in the characters of Conan Doyl By Bill Lawrence Sherlock Holmes and the Dance of the TigerSuzette Hollingsworth has placed a new literary character in the world of Book People adding a fresh prospective to the detective stories of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson. No less that a seventeen-going-on-eighteen young woman named Mirabella Hudson, who I first met in Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 as Clarisse McClellan. The innocence of youth at the beginning of adult life whose fortune is to meet two older mentors in the characters of Conan Doyle’s The Great Detective and his equally fascinating friend and biographer. This book is not a story of corrupting the “canon” it is a story of both genders learning to live with and learn from each other. This book deserves a place in the pantheon of “Sherlock Holmes Pastiche.”Hollingsworth also has done most diligent research into late nineteenth and early twentieth century Europe, particularly Paris, London, and St. Petersburg. A long forgotten history before the “war to end all wars.”So take a step back into history and classic detection to a time when monarchies were not so quietly slipping into the past and the political modernity of nation-states were emerging in Europe. “I received this book in exchange for a review.”Bill Lawrence21 November 2015

This book has me back in England with Sherlock and I am Miss Mirabelle. Once again I can just picture Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock and Jude Law as Watson, hear their voices. It is wonderful. I know there are some who think that true Sherlock fans would say a woman does not need to be in the story but I think it adds a delightful dimension to his character. If Sir Conan Doyle were alive today I think he would approve! Keep them coming.

By Judy Ambrose I just finished reading “Sherlock Holmes & the Dance of the Tiger” and thoroughly loved it. Arthur Conan Doyle may have created Sherlock but Suzette brings him to life in a truly delightful way. I feel as if I know the characters rather than just reading about them. I look forward to reading further books in the series. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review
