About the Author A graduate of Ryerson University, the author was also born in Toronto, Ontario, to a Sicilian father and a Canadian mother with English, Irish, and Scottish heritage. This novel is written under the name of Alek Leslie. The author’s maternal Great-Grandfather was born in Assiginack, Manitoulin Island, Ontario, in 1880, and was raised by an unforgettable Ojibwe woman while his parents, immigrants from Donegal, Ireland, ran a hotel. Had me on the edge of my seat every minute I was reading it. I very much enjoyed this series, and while sad to see it over, I'm glad to finally see the ties to all of the characters and learn the lessons this series has given me.
