0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Really good photographical book on the German Army victories during the period 1941 - 1943. By Bayard B. Very good photographical book on the subject of the German Army victories during the period 1941 - 1943. There is enough text to describe what happened during that period. Much text and many photos are devoted to the winter clothing and uniforms that the German Army developed during and after the 1941 - 1942 winter. There is also a lot of material devoted to the awful transportation conditions that always existed on the Eastern Front. Most of the photos depict what I would call the general living and marching conditions. Perhaps not surprisingly, there are very few photos of the German soldiers actually attacking anything (how would a photographer expect to survive in a real infantry assault?). There a couple of minor errors in the photo captions, I think. For example, on pages 134 - 135 the caption says that the tank depicted is a Panzer IV; I am almost positive that it is a Panzer III with a 50 mm L/60 gun.
