Board certification scared me to death By Robert Benson I’ve wanted to be a music therapist for quite some time and I had almost reached my goal when I got to the point where I had to take the board certification exam. That test scared me to death. If you’ve ever heard someone refer to a board exam, you know it’s a big deal. Passing this exam decides whether or not you get certified and getting certified determines whether or not you can practice as a music therapist. I knew I needed to do well, but studying seemed out of reach. What would I need to know? This study guide was a huge answer to that question. It had all of the information in it that I needed. All I had to do was sit down and learn the guide and I was good to go. The board exam still seemed large and looming, but I was able to tear down that insurmountable image because I knew I could do it. I knew what I needed to know, thanks to this study guide.
