About the Author I live in Auckland, New Zealand with my two dogs. Although I have had training in Beauty and Spa therapy, editing, journalism, animal behavior and photography, criminology and counseling; my main interest lies in writing novels which allows me to explore and learn about other eras and countries, creating characters that have deep rooted flaws, but uses those to achieve the end goal. My inspiration for novels came by accident, when finishing writing my first novel and starting to edit it, I stumbled across a conspiracy theory, in which some believed the Freemasons were involved in the Jack the Ripper murders. From there, the historical aspect took shape, continuing throughout all the novels I write. I hope that each novel I write doesn’t necessarily cause a person to believe in the conspiracy or myth, but challenges what they really believe could be possible. To everyone that reads my books, I hope they can transport themselves back in time, learn more about the world around them, and maybe even question certain things they believe in.

Let me start by saying this: I am not a fan of Dan Brown, and this book was very similar to his work, in that it touched in a lot of symbolism and a lot of connections which were made throughout the book and ultimately affected the story. The bad: The book was hard to follow and at times felt like it slogged. It could have done with probably around a hundred less pages. I understand that the author wanted to provide a lot of background, but it felt unnecessary. For instance, I especially cared about Annabelle (the protagonist) but I think I didn’t hear her name being said once until chapter, i don’t know, twelve. The bottom line is that the book needs restructuring, and probably some harsher editing. The things I wasn’t sure about: There were a lot of odd relationships in the book. I think it was a mystery but then it slipped into graphic erotica? Then it started to be really slut shamey? I don’t know, I think it was told from different perspectives but the narrative point of view kept changing so I wasn’t sure who spoke and whether those were the authors views or what. The good: The characters, by themselves, are interesting. The thing is, the way the book is set out, it is hard to keep up with who is who. I LOVED the Jack the Ripper storyline. It was really interesting to see this conspiracy theory/artist/misogynist serial killer so well researched. Annabelle’s background is also extremely interesting, but present Annabelle is a bit bland. The writer does descriptions beautifully and her strength lies in world-building.Overall: The book was hard to get into, but I managed to push through and was satisfied with the way it ended. It was long and could have done with a little less exposition and a less pages, but the story was well-crafted and very pretty. I give it a 3/5

Gifted book for honest review. juliesbookreview.blogspot.com By Theresa F Two men from two different generations, both initiated into a powerful organization that throughout history has sought control and uses their power for destruction. Initiated to Kill was a thrill of a read, a bit long for my taste but engaging none theless. I think it was told from different perspectives, but the narrative point of viewkept changing so I wasn’t sure who spoke and whether those were the author'sviews or what. The strong points of the book came from the author’s ability todisplay descriptions beautifully and her strength lies in world-building.occasional language/continuity flubs that a good editor would have caught, but theydidn't stop me from enjoying the core of the story. I would read this author’s work again. 3 Stars: Antwan Floyd Sr.

By Roshini Shetty “Initiated To kill” by Sharlene Almond was reviewed by me on receiving a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.“Our unexpected friendship that began when we were sixteen at the Archaeological Museum always made me question what did she want from me? Surrounded by doting males and gossiping girls her sudden introduction only left me waiting to see what she wanted.”“Little girl wanting the moon to take her away”. Annabella Cordova, protagonist, is an interesting character. She is deaf and her deafness has a unique significance to portray. She isn’t born deaf and the story behind her hidden truth is worth a read.Detectives Rivera and Valero investigating the cases of missing girls from Seville in the 21st century get a chance to unveil many secrets.A thought-provoking hypothetical explanation has been given to the barbaric killings during the 19th century in Whitechapel district of London by an unidentified serial killer, ‘Jack the Ripper’.“Ripping everything he could. Tossing her intestines over her shoulder”. The story line is very realistic in describing the crime of a serial killer and his so called ‘Masterpiece’.The plot has many twists and turns which will not favourably allow you to guess the climax till the very end. At different stages, the readers guess Demetrio, Murillo, Cesar or Enrique to be the culprit but the story goes beyond them to reveal something more than expected! The main drawback in this novel is, there are too many chapters and the story keeps on flipping between 19th and 21st century. With detailed description and attention-grabbing events, curiosity is aroused among readers but then, too much lingering into another generation in the story, will make the reader totally forget about the present story. In short, the curiosity quotient aroused among readers drifts away due to the lengthy lag.
