1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. The Other Side of the Story...Outstanding! By Author Kevin P. Hayden Cristi Taijeron has created a really unique tale with her Bloodstained Blade. Coastal history is filled with stories of pirates and their murderous exploits, whether true or embellished. One seldom considers how the freebooter happened to become a freebooter. What Taijeron has done is to humanize the pirate rather than capitalize on the available stereotype. Ending another'a life is, even for just cause, is ending another's life--taking all that they have made and expunging all they will ever be. It is a circumstance few of us will ever be forced to endure. Flat-hats off to you Christi for your compassion, careful insights and creative storytelling.
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. An Action Filled Pirate Story By Loves to Read This is the second story I've read by this author, but it won't be the last. This tale continues the narrative of Sterling Bentley, who is now 16 years old and the navigator on his father's ship. Unfortunately, Sterling has to kill a man (his first) in order to save himself and others, which allows him to see firsthand that the life of a pirate is not for the faint of heart. Once again, I loved the humor in this book, as well as the language and descriptions that sent me straight into the 1600s right alongside of Sterling. I look forward to reading more adventures involving this highly likeable pirate.
