5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Useful and Comprehensive By Ty Lett If you want to become a teacher, you know you need to pass this exam. And that can be tough. So one of the best ways to get yourself organized and prepared is by getting yourself this guide book. It’s truly a comprehensive and well written book that covers all aspects of what you need to know on test day.There is a lot of material covered in this study guide. But it is organized in tidy sections that are broken down logically. It’s easy to read and easy on the eyes. Everything you need to know that you might end up teaching is in there (i.e. algebra, trigonometry, probability, data analysis etc.). So it will make for a good reference book when you actually start teaching. There’s even practice test questions to get you in the right frame of mind for how the actual exam will look. You really can’t go wrong with this study guide. The information is useful, concise and easy to go through. Plus there’s other information at the end on a variety of teaching topics (homework, assignments, planning etc.). Overall, this book covers everything. It’s a great guide book that will come in handy for the test and your new teaching career.

By Stephanie H I have used a lot of math curriculums, and maybe it's just that this is a study guide, but I've also used a lot of study guides and I really liked this one. I found it very clear and concise in the information it offered, but also not too short handed - there is plenty of information there. A lot of the material is very glossary and index like in that it offers small bits of information in an easy to read manner with highlighted titles, easy to find. Illustrations and graphs and so on where necessary. I found it to offer a review of the most vital material which I need to know, and that includes the basics, which for me are easy to get fuzzy on when I haven't had to do them in a while. Some of the subjects included are Algebra and Number Theory, Measurement, Geometry, Trig, Functions and Calculus, Data Analysis and Statistics, Probability, Matrix Algebra and Discrete Mathematics..and then there is the practice test plus answer section. I feel like I accomplished making my exam feel like a day at the movies AND there was plenty of extra material at the end of the book to entertain me for days with useful information on how to prepare for the exam and how to quiet nerves and be prepared as well as how to accomplish winning at test taking in the first place! Also other miscellaneous sections at the end on teaching, writing assignments, special events, homework and assignments planning and communication. I feel like I got a bargain and definitely appreciate the benefit to me while taking my exam.
2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. standard deviation et al? not in the test yay! but... it is on this book... so it will scare you and it's needless By Nicholas Ceron I opted to completely ignore those questions...but other than that.. this book is PERFECT.another detail, the print is poor... in some graphs you have to guess where the dotted line is...I know, two big problems, but the value of having good questions and answers is worth it.In the end, this is the best book out there. So there is not perfect book out there. This is the best though.mm well, I passed of course. There is another book that seems more official, but to prepare for- the test- this one... by far the best questions.
