By Bill Anderson Length: 36 pages.To some extent, I agree with the other reviewer, Baarda, that an uprising (intifada), begun in Palestine is spreading. It has already changed regimes in Tunisia, Libya, and Egypt.Still, that is not what gave rise to Boko Haram, a terrorist group that includes gangsters who operate in a most heinous manner to gain funding and to plunder their opponents, comprised largely of Christians residing in the southern half of Nigeria.As this book explains, Boko Haram translated means no corruption of the nation be Western education and books.Founding an ideal on such a principle condemns the movement to eventual failure. My friends in Egypt, Libya, Palestine and Botswana, where I have lived much of my life, would scoff at such ridiculous thoughts as condemning all education that comes from the west.And that is only one feature discussed in this too short, even for CRE booklet about a notorious group that, subsequent to the publication of Boko Haram: The History..., Boko Haram has pledged allegiance to ISIL.I pray not that the West will militarily defeat either Boko Haram or ISIS, but that humanity will band together to ask God to intercede and bring peace throughout the region. Once peace commences, a new style of leadership can rise to the challenge of governing.That thought may seem out of place in a review. However, it comes from a realization, after reading this book, that some of the founders of Boko Haram, were responding to the abuses and unrepresentative government that they lived under during the sixties, seventies and eighties. As the book notes, there was a government abusing their constituency.Just as did the other reviewer, I am giving four stars. To earn five, several typos need to be cleared and the booklet needs another 20 to 30 pages if information,

While I love history and learning almost anything and everything current, I thought much of this audiobook was difficult to understand. Perhaps due to the difficult names and places that were actually done pretty well by WANDA J. DIXON McKNIGHT.The first part of the book was the history and origins of this organization and it's ties to Al Qaeda and other groups. It was a little dry, but to understand the present, we have to know the history therefore it was an integral part of the book. They practice what's called asymmetric warfare. The leader(s) are fairly young as well as many members and they commit ruthless acts of violence. Overall, at about halfway through, book was pretty good.WANDA J. DIXON McKNIGHT did a good job with what she had to work with. The names and places were hard to understand and likely hard to pronounce. That said, I liked her voice.
