This is a very well written, well researched, and I felt fairly balanced biography of what Harper and other call "the most unlikely" President. (I remember while working at a very strongly Republican company during Reagan's first run for President, the top brass refused to have him speak at a company sponsored event -- he was "a sure loser" and we want to support a winner.)I really enjoyed reading a balanced account of the life of this President, especially since I lived during those years and was impacted by many of his actions, not just then, but long afterwards, even now, by the impact he had on so many.If you would like to dig deeper into Reagan's history and impact, visit the outstanding Ronal Reagan Presidential Foundation and Library at reaganfoundation.org/Robert C. 4 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Love of Country By Carolyn L. Conroy What A Man!! I only wish that we had someone similar on the Horizon!! He instilled Patriotism, Love of Country, and Optimism, but first was his Love of God!! His humble upbringing and his reverent Mother was the backbone of his philosophy, but his time in Hollywood also gave him the tenacity he needed in making our world a much better place. Loved the book - and the tears at the end when he was in the throes of Alzheimer's. Anyone who is regretting our present President and his lack of leadership will also enjoy!!

I learned a lot about the man, his character and faith, his views, and his commitment to helping everyone see the absolute greatness of America, and the people who made America great.
